** Notice of revisions to application for and guide lines of the Citizens' Collection Station. ** The Citizens' Collection Station purpose is to provide a convenient place for residents to unload bulky waste items. Bulky waste is defined as appliances without Freon, old furniture, and other non-prohibited items. The Collection Station will not accept hazardous waster, loads emitting foul or offensive odors, tires, kitchen waste, yard waste or brush, daily commercial waste, construction or demolition waste, any appliance containing Freon or other liquid refrigerant, any material prohibited by the Texas Commission of Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and materials transported from outside. To be eligible to unload bulky waste at the collection station, a $20 annual permit must first be acquired at City Hall by the head of household or business owner wanting to use the facility. Applicants must present a utility bill as proof of residency, or a state issued identification card, and may add the names of up to three associated people to the permit. Up to four people from one household or business can be put on the permit and use the facility. Each applicant will be given written guidelines for using the collection station and must sign a form of acknowledgment. To maintain a one-way flow of traffic, we ask residents to enter the center from Disoway Street and exit onto Harper Street. To view the new revised guidelines click here. Revised as of 1/8/2007. For clarification and questions, contact the Public Works Department at 426-4737.
