
City of Hondo Street Department:
The mission of the Street Department is to provide excellent
service and value to our citizens, by treating our citizens as a
valued customers.
Hours of operation:
7:00a.m to 4:00p.m.
Department Responsible:
The Street Department is responsible for all maintenance and repairs
of the city streets. The department consists of seven employees
including a superintendent, crew leader equipment operators, and
truck drivers. The Street Department performs maintenance on 53.3 miles of street within
the city limits of Hondo.
The duties of the Street Department are the
following:

Repair damaged or missing street signs.

Street maintenance of pothole repairs, crack
sealing, tree trimming.

City right-of-way mowing and cleaning .
-
Drainage ditch maintenance.

Utility cut repair.
-
Inlet cleaning, street cleaning and street
sweeping.

Remove objects from streets.
-
Sidewalk & curb & gutter repairs.
-
Pavement stripping.
-
Citizen issue resolution.

All traffic lights in the state highway in the city limits are
maintained by the Texas Department of Transportation. If you notice
that a traffic light is not working contact Texas Dot office at
830-426-2522 or after hours, The Police Department at 830-426-5353.
